Lent Week 3
Third Sunday of Lent, Psalm 103 – The Lord is Compassionate
God’s compassion for his children is like that of a father. He remembers we are not perfect. Pray the Our Father slowly each day this week to grow in appreciation of God as Father.
Generations of families have experienced God’s compassion. Recall a story an older member of your family shared with you about their experience of God’s compassion. Say a prayer of gratitude for the person who shared their faith with you.
Set aside time to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Penance. There are weekly opportunities in each parish, some deanery-wide Penance Services with individual confession, and one day set aside throughout the diocese with multiple hours for celebrating the sacrament individually.
Make praising God in grateful prayer, heartfelt song and joyful service part of your Lenten walk this week.
